Aother clear night prompted me to indulge.

I thought it might be nice to get back to basics
and rediscover what they can bring.

Rho Ophiuchi......and freinds.

Canon 1100D modded
Canon 50mm lens (Nifty Fifty)
Sywatcher AZGT6 non guided

Snapseed for processing of live 29 x 180s jpg

The night was very enjoyable, though extreme
dew ultimately put things to an end.

There were 70 x 180 subs taken.
I continued to see what effect the fogged lens would create.

Even the dew strap/heater could not compete
with the extreme dew.

For those interested, the DSLR was running at 16C.

Outside temps were well within the low digits.

Thanks again for looking.

The night has brought me much joy.

Paul,
Beautiful wide field image of an interesting target area
Love the Star field
Even better you captured it with the trusty Canon
Must have been a very chilly night to get down to 16 deg , my Canon 600D got down to 18 degrees only once on a freezing night back in 2018.
Well done !!!

Given the hurdles that's absolutely fantastic Mark. I do love a good deep star field with some colour interest.

Nice Paul.
I was after it but for various reasons could not get it in my field of view ( camera mounting issues).

Well done.

Nice Paul. Rho Ophiuchi is such a beautiful target. And I can just see the Prawn Nebula included in there too. Nice framing!

A great image, Paul. The Nifty Fifty's FOV roughly approaches that of the human eye (sans your DSLR sensor crop factor) and that's one of the stand-out aspects of this image - it's beautiful wide-field that shows Rho Ophi in context against the Milky Way in a way my brain can instantly relate to. Well done

I would like to take a moment to thank you all
for your comments and encouragement.

I trully appreciate you not only taking the time to look,
but to also enjoy the images.

I do like to mix up my imaging time with different
equipment and set ups, but a good old Canon DSLR
and nifty fifty never fails to provide the WOW factor.

Particularly handy setup in high winds...which we have
had recently.

Forgot to mention... ISO 1600 for this image.

Thanks again !

Paul.
