My take on M16, hope you like. Comments always welcome :D

Lights 424x 800 ISO 1 minute subs giving 7 hours of data
Darks
Flats
Bias

Hoping to add to this when the skies clear.

Trusty cheap 8" Newtonian (Primary needs a clean)
Canon 700D unmodded
NEQ6 Pro with belt upgrade

Clear skies

Nice image of it Carl. Really like the details in the pillars. Nice work with an unmodded camera too!

Very well done, Carl. As Jason said, the detail and colours in the Pillars are showing up really well.

Great job and loving the detail in the pillars. A bit more data will help in the outer regions bringing some of that faint detail out and won’t have to rely on noise reduction. Good stuff!

Thanks for the feedback everyone, it is much appreciated.

Jason, I only purchased this camera the other month. I wanted to step up from my 450D which I modded myself at home. I removed the IR cut filter and left the LP1 filter in.

I am torn on what to do with this camera. I was contemplating doing the same as I did on the 450D which has no cost. The other option is to do a full spectrum mod and remove both OEM filters and fit the Astronomik MC glass. This is not cheap and has to come from overseas and I have no idea if it is worth the extra spend

Clear skies

A little more data added to this one, I think this will be the final version. Each night gives more detail in the nebula but it is too painful with a normal camera.

Too many hours of data :P

Now with 11 hours of subs.

I am going to mod this camera over the next few days, I am removing the LP2 filter and leaving the LP1 as I did with my 450D. I took some images with the 450D today and got so much more data in one sub.

Edit: Camera modded this morning, tested and ready to go :)

Clear skies
