Well another clear night another nightscape :) This old dance hall now sits on private land, thankfully next to the road so easy enough to photograph. The owner actually came down to make sure I was okay and we had a good chat. This used to be the place around to go for dances and parties but was closed down after kids started to vandalise it, unfortunate in this day and age. Inside are still the old stage and even the ticket booth near the entrance.

I photographed the foreground during blue hour with my Sony A7RIV and shot it as a pano to get a larger view with the framing I wanted. Then waited for the core to come up and shot what with my astro modded Sony A7 and light pollution filter. 6 shots stacked and tracked for the sky at ISO 800, F4, 30 seconds per shot.

Processed the foreground in Lightroom and Photoshop. Stacked the stars with Sequator, processed in pixinsight and merged/finished the job in Photoshop. Hope you enjoy :)

Gee, that really is a top notch image.

What lens did you use? I take it you used a wide lens and then cropped to get the closeup? Or was it a longer lens like a n 85+mm lens?

Greg.

Zoom lens either 16-35mm f2.8 or standard 24-70mm f4. Zooming in when shooting the core brings it forward, makes it larger, but needs better technical skills to avoid star trails etc.

Great shot Murray.

Do you get the star eater effect of green small stars?
