Hi All,

Well finally nabbed Jupiter last night, I was only out to get the some moon shots but could not resist. It was just peaking over my Roof so very turbulent, got it several 80-100sec shots at 25fps. Using my 3x Tal Barlow and the loaned Neximage. The Barlow appears to have some dust, so i had to place Jupiter in a corner where there was little or no dust. Processed in Registax with hard wavelets at the end. In all of them there is a white spot and a black spot, highlighted in the 4th image, is this a moon and its shadow?

Fahim

Well done, Fahim.

The objects you have identified are spots in Jupiter's cloud features.

You've captured a white spot in the southern polar region and a red spot in the south equatorial belt.

Good work:thumbsup:

Yeah I showed my Wife ETA Carina and Omega Centaur before the Imaging bug got me. Omega was ok, but ETA Carina was no where near as good as up at Kulnura. Kal had set us a challenge at work to get the Mountains on the moon.

My focusing fix is also working, I got one of those 3m small tapes from stationery. It did not quiet fit snugly so I had to put on some electrical tape around my focuser to make it fit snugly. This also helps on cold nights, as I dont have to touch the cold mirror focus knob. Image shift is almost non-existant.

Fahim

Keep up the great work mate, looking forward to more.

I'm a bit worried about the Apennine challenge I set you now Fahim... On the bright side I have ordered a Toucam so I will be retiring my LPI very soon!

As a comparison I was only able to shoot Jupiter @ 3fps, from what you told me earlier you were imaging these at 25fps.

I look forward to the rest of the images you took last night!

Nice shots, Fahim. I like the moons in the last one - a distinct difference between them. If the Neximage is like the Toucam, 25 fps is pushing it a bit. It compresses the data to stream it at that rate, with resulting image degradation. Usually 10 -15fps is considered optimal with these webcams.

5-10fps for the ToUcam;)
