Got up in this chilly morning, ambient temp 5 degrees, to get Barnard 86 with the mighty 300mm f2.8 lens, from Bert, and Houghys cooled 350D DSLR.
3x10 mins @f5, only uv/ir filter used. Sensor temp a chilly -5 degrees. Hand guided

The Hepworth freezer suit I ordered at Lostock came in VERY handy indeed! Its lovely and warm.

Nice image Scott. One or two stars in there.:D

Andrew, ditto your comments. The full scale image is worth a look see, and this would make a fine ED80 target.

Marvellous image! I love that target in a large reflector (with eyeballs!) too!

sadly Houghy has taken back his cooled camera today, ahh well all good things come to an end lol.
Its been well and truly tested and indeed lives up to all expectations.

yep I got it back but not before a certain Mr Alder melted the circuitry on photon collection;) . Nice image Scott, but there seems to be a big dust mote in the middle:D :P ;) :lol:
