Hey guys, as the cheeky title says, second light image with the new scope, the Esprit 100. This one capturing both birds in the one shot with my unmodded Canon 6D.

The shot is made up of 58 x 5 minute exposures for almost 5 hours of total integration. I would have had almost 10 hours if not for the camera losing communication with the ASIair sometime during the night while I was dead to the world. Oh well. I may add more data to this one and reprocess it. I am not entirely happy with the stars, they don't seem as tight as in my first light image of M8, maybe my focus was off?

Higher res shot on my Flickr here. (https://www.flickr.com/photos/jasonwehbe/52967823477)

Feedback always welcome and thanks for looking!

Great shot. Did you take those in Sydney or elsewhere? 5min is a lot. Mine tend to be blown out after 30secs in the burbs.

Very nice Jason. I really like seeing objects in context with their surroundings.
Great colours from a DSLR too.

Nothing wrong with netting two birds at once, economical imaging I say :P looks good

Thanks Roberto, I need to change my location, I now live in the Blue Mountains and only recently started reposting on here. I used to live in Newington and my balcony faced all the stadiums of Sydney Olympic Park, so feel your pain regarding short exposures!

Cheers Pete. I used to shoot with a 200mm lens and could get super wide fields. Really fun shooting like that and seeing a lot of objects in the one image. But having a scope that I can finally shoot with has seemingly opened up a new world, well, universe to me! Glad you like the colours too. I have been surprised with the colours I have been getting from the camera through this scope. Makes me wonder what I could get from the 6D if I got it modded.

 yeah Mike agree. Thank you!

That’s a great shot- and for such a wide field had fantastic detail. Gosh I wasn’t expecting to be able to zoom in so far! Very cool
