OK first my excuses..I am first of all colour blind...second I am an old mug who does not know what he is doing...third the rig still needs a lot of attention:).

AND this image was just part of my testing program:D...

I had issues with this rig..the 115mm with mono ZWO 2600... which sent me bats:mad2:..kept showing capture had failed and after a week of trying everything from cables drivers power bricks etc I pulled down the filter wheel to find the wheel was jammed by a spacer ring that did not need to be there which I guess found its way there due to the earlier camera problems and the various changes etc...

I used every filter for this object just to see the results..but not enough HA or O11 or S11 as the stacks had so much noise nothing could save them..but mainly there were too few..I was testing various things so this image is a by product...so not sure of the total exposure but probably less than three hours made it thru.

The green channel was impressive and detailed and I guess thats why the green hangs around...but I dont know what I am doing and justify my involvement on the basis that I enjoy trying...

The 115mm lost correct back focus due to all the mucking about when I was changing cameras around trying to get the Askar set up running and so I cropped fifty percent to get rid of the stars that were represented as dashes around the edges...

So this image is not flash but for me it says I at least got this rig working and with more effort it will work as it should...

Excellent Alex, bold yet still exhibiting subtle form, my recent contribution is a travesty by comparison, perhaps some of the best excuses yet.

That's a great target for a full filter wheel. Best in SHO imho, but LRGB and all the combinations are available to play with. Good job mate, more please.

The Statue of Liberty in NYC is oxidised copper. Alex is merely following tradition.

For all the troubles, issues and problems you had, Alex, top marks for getting a respectable image. You're doing a lot better than I am.

Cheers,
V

Thanks John my excuses, because they are so truthful, sound sincere and that is the way I like them to present for indeed they are...I did set out to do SHO but decided to see how each filter performed under the Moonlight and mostly to see that the rig could cycle thru all filters etc...I dont think I used sh and o in this image...I hope to get more data next dark assuming all continues to work.

Thanks Steve for you encouragement and certainly overall I am doing better than everyone given the real issues I have been dealing with...but I cant talk about them in depth as I want to remain upbeat...:D

The image is not flash and looking at my data I could have titled this thread..."Attempting to make a silk purse from a pig's ear"..but I do like working with stuff that has little hope when you look at it first.:)

As an aside the good news is my cancer in my lungs is shrinking but the other thing in my neck has them baffled and so there is nothing they can suggest for treatment unfortunately....so it's all up to my self talk and positive attitude to beat it:thumbsup:...simple ...so all is good:thumbsup:...I am going to try some "Placebo" if I can find it..I will ask the chemist when I get more meds next week;).

Shoot … tweak … shoot … tweak, it’s what we do, Alex, for the sheer love of it. Nice image mate. I very much enjoy your creativity and willingness to give anything a go and then share it with us  I’ve learnt quite a bit from your excellent efforts ranging from targets that I’ve added to my to-do list to the value of higher gain / shorter exposure subs soooo keep‘em coming mate.
