Ok I did a sunset comparison between these two cameras, with exactly the same lens - a 18-125 Sigma lens. Both cameras were set on auto and iso200, so it is really up to the processors and the chips to make the difference.
they are both 10meg cameras. both images were taken seconds apart
be very interested in your comments:whistle: :help:

Can't really tell much difference between them. I assume the pentax is the one on the left? There's a bit more vignetting in that one, and some more (dark) foreground in the right hand one which may have done something to the auto exposure, but otherwise they look very similar.
Nice shots.

Hmm, looks like the Canon has a serious fault – a sloping horizon?

in fairness the canon was hand held which explains the lower horizon. the image factor for the pentax is 1.5, while the canon is 1.6. Oh well just a failed experiment ...... I tried to shoot the same object at the same time with the same settings, and the same lenses. I will do a better job next time.

I think that you should donate the K10D to an Englishman living in Queensland, so you can concentrate on your Canon cameras. I'm concerned you may be getting a little too distracted with all this cross platform functionality.
Pretty please….:prey:

Sure Dennis;) :screwy:
BTW I have just bought a new lens for the pentax, a Sigma AF 20-40mm f2.8 EX DG Aspherical Lens

Where’s Alan going to fit on the drive up to Qld Astrofest? There’ll be no room for him in the Forester, will all your new gear!
