After a week of continuing bad weather we finally at least saw the sun this morning :)
It doesn't take long before you are out of the routine of setting up and imaging.
Although there were not clouds, the conditions were quite poor, making it very difficult to focus. There was also a very strong and gusty north wind that managed to blow over the tripod with the SSM. Probably shouldn't have bothered but at least we got to see the sun.

Hi Guys
If that is what you get from bad conditions you haven't got much to complain about. Another fine effort from you two.

Thanks Jeff :)
It took a couple of goes to get it right today. With the wind and us being a bit rusty, the first lot of data went straight to binary heaven but the second try was a bit better. It's a pretty impressive disk at the moment and AR3310 is huge. Very happy to see it all for ourselves today.

Thanks P and C, still useful images despite the conditions. The two prominent ARs at the moment show interesting features.
Cheers, John W.

Yes John, we'd like to think we had another chance to see these ARs before they rotate off the disk, however the forecast continues to be dismal. Maybe you might have a little less cloud up your way and get some images for us :)
