This is the latest image out of Swan Reach Imaging. It is of NGC3521 or also known as a Flocculent Galaxy.
The galaxy is located in the constellation of Leo at a distance of 26 million light years. It appears to have undertaken several mergers with other galaxies based on the tidal streams that surround it.
Integration was 26.2 hours with Luminance, Ha and RGB.

Very nice Paul. Love the halo you've brought out on this object.
There sure must be some interesting forces at work there.

That's a bright halo! :eyepop:
One of my favourite galaxies, it's very cool, one of those that has a bit of something for everyone

Thanks guys for the comments.
The halo started showing really well after about 4 hours of luminance data, so you don't need to do too much integration to start to bring it out.

Very impressive depth Paul! Lovely!
A minor critique - I'd probably de-emphasise the halo a little bit - in the spirit of "respect the light" (?)

Great image of a very interesting galaxy:thumbsup::thumbsup:
This one is already on my to-do list, but there haven't been too many opportunities here at cloudy Macedon....
The halo is especially beautifully caught.
