Hi all,
I am trying to find out the image size, expressed in micrometres (µm) for my Canon EOS 1500D. Siril image processing wants this figure. I have tried all kinds of web searches and come up with nothing. Any help would be appreciated.:help2:

Hi Nick,

I can see why you struggled. It is an APS-C sensor which is 22.3x14.9mm. Not sure why Siril would want to know the frame size in microns. You can work that out however. The frame size is according to gizbot (random website I found) 6000x4000px. You can work out the pixel size from that. Using the astronomy tools website, it shows that the pixels are 3.72-3.72 microns.

3.725 (in the middle) x 6000 (width) = 22350microns in width

3.725 (in the middle) x 4000 (height) = 14900 microns in height

You might want to find the diagonal which will be 26860 microns diagonal.

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much Lachlan. I am learning more of a manual processing style, without stacking up to this point, with Siril and part of one of the entries it requires is this number.
Very much appreciated.:thanx::thanx::thanx:
