The scope is outside, setup, aligned and cooling...
I'm on call for work, so fingers crossed I don't get any calls!
The sky was looking so clear and still this afternoon, I decided I just have to get the scope out, even if it is just to get some moonage. Streetlights are probably too bad to worry about much else:rolleyes:.
If I wasn't on call, I'd be out of town for sure!

I'm out there too, Al!
Don't know what the seeing will be like, but it's time to give it another go.
The moon is already too far west for me but Jupiter is up soon!
It's gonna be a cool night - the freezer suit will make an appearance.

Freezer suit!!!:eyepop:
Don't worry, mine's on stand by!;) I'm sure it'll be colder here than Wyoming but I'm probably a little bit more used to it too...
I already have the thermals, ugg boots, windstopper and beanie on...
I'll let you know if I go for the freezer suit (cause it will be the last layer!)

I was planning to go out there tonight after a long wait for nearly 2 months. Seems like clouds will be rolling in again soon:

We have been out with the binoculars for the last half hour but it is blowing dogs off chains at the moment and I dont think that it will settle before tomorrow. Have a great night. Regards Greg.
P.S. Gear. 10 X 50 Bushnell bino's mounted on a sand filled Asanuma tripod.

It's a balmy 5 degrees here now. STill haven't gone for the freezer suit. In fact I'm not wearing my throat coat either... Beautiful still night. Shame I don't seem to be able to jag the seeing with it though...

The seeing is shocking! I'm trying to test this astrovid camera and i don't think i'll get anything useful.

Well I'm glad it's not just me...
I got some moonage and some Jups. Nice Io and shadow transit tonight, but I'm not confident about the quality of what I've captured:shrug:. Well I guess it's practice... I've had a terrible run of getting out lately.
Had some interesting intermittent fault tonight too. I thionk I tracked it down to my hand controller not being plugged in correctly. It seemed to settle once I unplugged and reconnected it...
Off to bed soon... work again tomorrow.

Howling wind and cloudy here!!!!
I managed to get some moon pics (in another thread) but it was blowing a gale during imaging!!!
I was planning a night out as well but the father in law downloaded something he shouldn't have so I spent the night fixing his pooter.
Hopefully a big night on Friday.
Cheers
Was the same here last night as well.
I didn't even bother to process the 4 AVIs I captured.
However, it does appear we're in for better conditions (JS-wise) over the weekend.:)
