Hi all,

I am pleased to present my first image with my new Astroworx Newtonian made by Diego at Sidereal Trading. Over time, a few little things such as backfocus and tilt will need adjusting, but I am overall quite pleased with this first result!

M104 is my favourite galaxy, and I learnt from Antoine & Dahlia (Youtube: Galactic Hunter) that the three bright stars on the right form an asterism known as the Jaws, because they form the jaws of a much larger shark mostly outside of my field of view.

Bigger version here (https://www.astrobin.com/0ozhpg/).

Hope y'all enjoy. As usual, feel free to comment &/or critique.

Thanks for looking.
Stéphane

Stunning shot mate! Looks like the new rig is going well. I can’t tell any major issues at all. You’ve put together a beautiful image annd absolutely nailed the detail and starfield. Lovely!

Stephane,
That’s an excellent Sombrero, you must be happy
You’ve got that new f4 scope dialed in nicely which is not an easy task. Stars are round and tight too which is great.
The TS GPU CC was well worth the additional expense
Well done !!
Cheers

Thanks guys!

Thanks Martin, yes I am really happy to have a Newtonian again. Collimation is much easier the way it’s been designed.

Thanks Dave, processing hides the artefacts and other issues thankfully, but I’d like to eliminate them entirely over time.

Overall Stephane, for essentially a test image, with a new (mighty fine) scope, that's a pretty good M104, well done. The Universe awaits!

Hey, thanks Mike. A fun, yet challenging target I thought to myself. I’m just so happy to be imaging again. Hopefully with time I can fine tune the rig. For example, my guiding is now worse than before despite having a lighter tube.

I’m also getting some colour distortion perhaps due to the coma corrector. I also want to bring my primary mirror further down hoping for a little less vignetting. Time will tell if I can improve these little issues.

Looking good Stephane -if this is what a test image produces can't wait to see what you get up to with it all finely tuned! CS, Mat
