Okay, odd question I'm sure you are all thinking...

I have an Ioptron iPolar camera & have recently purchased an Ioptron Skyguider Pro mount to simplify my AP urges....

The iPolar camera will fit internally in the Skyguider Pro but, you have to remove the internal polar scope & whilst the operation looks relatively straight forward (there is some removal & re-insertion of a board involved) I would prefer not to go this route.

I have an adapter for the CEM25 mount that I had hoped might fit the dec bracket on the skyguider but, alas, I would need to file down a lip on the dec bracket & being brand new, I'd prefer not to do that either...

Option C is to purchase a Polemaster camera & associated adapter & just go that route but, given I already own the iPolar, I thought if it fits the polemaster adapters, I could just buy one of the adapters & happily mount the iPolar to the dec bracket...

Anyone done such a thing? Or, is anyone able to see if an iPolar camera will fit the polemaster adapter...

Cheers

Hey there,

You can make anything fit into/into anything if you're clever/handy with tools.

Rather than filing down the lip on the DEC bracket, why not put a notch into the adapter?

What holes or mounting options are there on the iPolar camera? You may be able to mount the iPolar camera on a piece of plastic (or aluminium) that fits onto the mount. If you have access to a 3D printer, your solution is right there.

Cheers,
V

Part of the adapter is already notched, perhaps I can either carefully bend the sections in a touch to fit inside hole or, lightly file the outside of it so it will slide in. It's only too big by a smidge...

I'll re-examine options

Issue sorted, thankyou for the inspiration...

Bit of sanding back of the adapter, little by little (Dremel is your friend), finished with some fine wet & dry. Needed a washer between the adapter & the Dec bracket so the little thumb screw stood free from the Dec bracket & Bob's your Aunty's mother... Just like it was made to fit.

Tick that off my to do list....

 Excellent to hear you got it sorted out.

And an "Argh!" for my typo - I meant to say "into/onto" rather than "into/into". Confounded keyboard layout putting the 'i' next to the 'o'... :P
