I feel like I'm going insane.

I just looked up in the sky and there is what appears to be an extremely bright (mag 3, ish) comet with a long tail in Canis Minor.

I can't find any reference to it.

I've just spent half an hour looking at it with binoculars, telescope and naked eye and there it is.

This is one of the brightest "comets" I've seen in years, but it snuck up.

Is it a comet or has there been an airburst or something creating a long comet-like rather bright object?

Have I just missed the memo and the rest of the world already knows about it?

My observing site is Burekup, WA. (Near Bunbury)

Update: I messaged Perth Observatory and they responded that it's the second stage rocket plume of the JUICE mission!

Oh bugger! I would have loved to see this! Funny I was reading about the JUICE mission launch yesterday and was wondering if it would be possible to see anything here in WA.

Lucky you to see that:thumbsup:
