Venus and the moon from last night 2 April 2023

It was such a change to have a beautiful clear and calm night. We set up before sunset to have another go at Venus. We used Wratten #47 & IR cut filters, ASI174MM, 6"SCT, 2.5x Barlow, exposure 10ms, gain 200, ROI 640x480, FPS 100, 120 sec 8bit AVI, stacked 75% and sharpened in WaveSharp. Taken at 5:51pm, the sun was behind the house. Elevation 19 degrees.

Later we took a four panel mosaic of the moon.

We then did stray a little outside the solar system (oops).

Great shots guys!! I spent a few hours last night on the moon - was cloud everywhere but super steady so a very enjoyable evening

Thanks Warren, we might pass on the clouds offer for the moment as we have only just managed to get rid of our own in the last two days. They are coming back to stay from tomorrow :(

Thanks David. The moon was very steady Sunday night and was a brilliant sight through an eye piece as well as the camera :) We probably should have taken some close ups for our Lunar 100 but didn't get around to it.
