Purchased the Skywatcher Evostar 150 off a fellow Ice In Space member 2 months ago. This was the first real run with it.. 2.30hrs of 30 sec exposures with an Asi294mc Pro.
Nice one Andrew, good job on the core, well done!
What are your first impressions of the scope?

Not sure what filters you used with your camera to get these but I like the detail you've pulled out in the first one.

My beginners eye finds your first image most appealing.,clear, simple and with good detail and pleasing colour.More like this would be enjoyed.

Love the scope. Would recommend, I read a bit that it was only good for viewing, not astro due to the halos but that can be sorted easily when processing... No filters on this one.. Single shot colour camera.

Lovely images, Andrew. If I had to pick one it would be the first image with its extra detail and colour due to more of the Ha being teased out - it’s a balanced image with good detail in the core (which is easy to blow). I nearly bought the 150ED early last year but opted for the 120Ed; how are you finding it’s performed, size etc? What mount are you using? Alex

What everyone else has said - the detail in that first image is fantastic. Love the colour scheme, too.

Hi Alex
I love it.. My first telescope was an ED80 and I got good results from it. Then I got a Edge HD 8 brand new and I still haven't pulled an image im happy with out of it. I got really despondent so I bought the EVO 150 because I wanted to do 900mm + imaging and it just worked.
It is big and heavy, I use an Neq6 Pro mount which handles it.. Focus is easy, no mirror flop, no bloated stars at 30 sec on zero gain, Tracking / Guiding is easy, it just works and I love that..
I will sort out the Edge 8 at some point but at the moment I don't want to waste a night's imaging sorting it out when the EVO does what it's doing..
