This is an image of IC2631 located in the constellation of Chamaeleon. I imaged this several years back but did not really feel happy with the result. I think it really needs a wider field of view that this image to really show the area well. The image shows some of the galactic dust within the area. Data was taken at Swan Reach Imaging. Integration was 22.3 hours.
Gotta love those dark skies and all that dust near the pole. I am currently imaging another area near the pole which has a lot of dust within it too.

Hey Paul
Great target and nice work.....love these dust shots :thumbsup::thumbsup:
I would of cropped that right hand side for better framing but hey that's me.
ps. the link didn't work for me

Thanks Louie,
I did actually crop a bit at I had to move the camera half way through this imaging project and it meant I had visible framing marks from the rotation. I follow your thinking though. It does look slightly left of centre. Better framing overall might have worked better and perhaps if I do this one again with a wider field of view I'll get that optimum framing.
I have updated the link. It should work this time. Not sure why it didn't work.

Love it! I'm a big fan of broadband targets and particularly dark nebulae, especially when combined with a reflection nebula. That's why I long for a dark sky!!

Nice one Paul. Dusky and moody, and a couple of little whirlwinds in there.

Thanks guys for all the comments.
I really think that this object and regions needs a wider field of view. Perhaps at some point I will get a bigger sensor camera for this system.

Lovely, dark and moody dusty field, very deep space look to it, that FSQ85 is pretty handy  Is that BlurEx again in the couple of bright areas..? Powerful tool that...
