Hi Folks. I finally got an opportunity to try out my new (to me) Evolux 82ED - my first wide-ish-FOV scope which nicely complements my 8" SCT and 120ED refractor. I used the Evolux with and without a NB filter and it def behaves better with a NB filter. Without it, some stars exhibited typical CA/blue fringing but nothing that can't be well managed in post-processing. Sooooooo for my first target I thought I'd shoot the good ol Ozzie staple; Eta Car nebula in dual NB and compiled into a HOO image. Also, as I was using the ASI294MC on a short FL scope, I used drizzle integration for the first time which achieved the desired effect of significantly improving under sampled stars. In fact, I've discovered that drizzle integration is a pretty neat thing! Thanks for looking at my Eta Car image murdered by IIS image compression :) Alex

Fantastic Alex, really well done! Really well controlled. And only 2 hours, damn.

Cheers John. It’s such a bright nebula that even just two hours provides plenty of data when shooting at f/5.8 … that’s the fastest scope I own. Alex
