Reposting this listing from a while ago.

I have a 5.5W laser engraver by Void Micro for sale. This has been a great laser for engraving. I also have a 40W module upgrade for it (information below).

Cutting area is 280mm x 230mm.

Firmware has been flashed to run Light Burn which is the recommended software for laser engraving. You can switch it back to the stock firmware but you will be locked in using Void Micros software. In the terminal there are errors that do pop up but I havn't had an issue running Light Burn with it. Just ensure before you burn, press Stop then Start. It's one of those cheaper lasers where it does work using Light Burn but not well supported.

I was able to do some nice engravings with the 5.5W laser. I did purchase the 40W laser module upgrade but did have trouble with it. For the first 20 minutes I was able to cut 4-5mm hardwood (American Oak) and 3-6mm Plywood in 3-7 passes and it was working perfectly. After that for some reason it cannot cut using the same settings unless you do maybe more than 20 passes and the edges arnt as clean. I believe it isn't outputting the maximum power it's meant therefore I am labelling the module as 'faulty'. It will engrave fine and it can cut but requires more effort so I wouldn't class it as unusuable but maybe someone out there can either try to fix it or adjust settings to compensate for the sudden loss of power?

To try and fix it I tried
- Adjusting the focus length
- More powerful power supply
- Different software
- Checked all the GCode and settings
- Ensured nothing was loose
- Retightened the belts

I contacted the company and we tried various solutions to try and fix the issue but were unsuccessul so I received a partial refund for the laser module as it's still usable. It was more hassel sending it back (return shipping), time to get a full refund etc so I accepted the partial refund.

This is pickup only in Melbourne.

A 5.5W laser at this cutting area size go for around $250 online. The upgraded laser module cost me $180.
It also comes with some spare parts and goggles.

- Laser with the 5.5W and 40W module $300

Photos to come.
