Can't believe it's been 2 months since I had my astro gear out <sigh> So you can imagine how happy I was to have 2 clear nights AND be around my gear woohoo. I had a crack at the Statue of Liberty nebula but the framing is terrible which means I'll have another go at some stage. And despite my best newbie efforts in PI, I could not get rid of the red-ish pink colour in the final image ... I wanted that lovely 'sulphur yellow' colour instead ... which means I'll have another go at some stage :lol: So I'm sharing my pink image with you. This is my deepest image yet at 10hrs 45mins of integration. It took PI's 'weighted batch processing preprocessor' aka stacker, nearly 7hrs to integrate and calibrate the data. I love this target and yes, I can see the Statue of Liberty.

My first time running the whole rig entirely off a LiFePO4 battery setup. One complete night of imagery barely dents the capacity of a 120Ah battery. Thanks for looking. Alex

Nice one Alex. "Standard" palette does appear to reveal the detail better but I have a soft spot for alternative palettes just for the art's sake. I've been dialling in what might be my new favourite scope on this. Great target.

I just tried BB's HOONormalizationV3 on it and it gave me what I think you wanted?

Thanks for the hot tip John, I’ll give that a crack. I do have that script in my PI project file but didn’t use it. In fact, the processing on this was a bit rushed and I didn’t do my normal OIII / Ha separation, recombo with RGB etc. Just used a couple of tools/scripts on the image as a whole. When I have more time (hah!) I will redo this one from scratch as the nearly 11hrs of data should be able to produce an image with a more standard looking colour palette :-)

Righteeeooooo I've been working on V2 thanks to John's hot tip about a BB HOO normalisation tool. I used that as the start of a 'V2' process and then played with curves and colours to arrive at something similar to the image I had in mind. Still not there, but definitely closer. To get closer I'll prob need to decompose the image into OIII and Ha components ... something for a future Alex :-)

I might even post this V2 image as a new thread.
