In case some haven't seen it, this from Webb last month, Pandora's Cluster. I know it is an over used term, firstly with HST images and now with Webb taking over but it truly is "mind boggling stuff"

Make sure you look at this on a proper monitor, preferably not in a brightly lit room and not just your phone screen and click on the image and then click again to enlarge....

Pandora's Cluster (https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2023/nasa-s-webb-uncovers-new-details-in-pandora-s-cluster)

I loved this comment by one of the investigators:

“Pandora’s Cluster, as imaged by Webb, shows us a stronger, wider, deeper, better lens than we have ever seen before,” Labbe said. “My first reaction to the image was that it was so beautiful, it looked like a galaxy formation simulation. We had to remind ourselves that this was real data, and we are working in a new era of astronomy now.”

Go Webb!

Thanks Mike
Really opens your mind looking at what images Webb is capturing, especially this one !!
It’s a shame Einstein didn’t live to see the fruits of his genius
Observing and imaging deep deep space with incredible detail
and resolution has come a long way in only a few short decades. Who knows what lies ahead in 10 years , 30 years , 50 years , 100 years , 1000 years from now.
The mind certainly does boggle !!

Thanks Mike.:)
I put it on my 42 inch TV screen WOW!:eyepop:
Spent some time close up looking at galaxies
possibly two thirds back to the beginning of time
It is now also my computer Screensaver.
That is surely one of the most mind
bending images ever.
Definitely go Webb!
Cheers:thumbsup:

Damn! I thought that was a cluster best left unopened…

That image I would think is just a miniscule area of the sky. Just how many billions of galaxies are out there and each one containing billions of stars. Blows your mind to think about it. Really hard to imagine that so much could have been created by just the supposed big bang from nothing??? And that is the edge of the KNOWN universe???
