I'm changing direction of my astro pursuits somewhat and am having to consolidate as a result. For sale is one of my best scopes, all things considered.
This refractor has not been around for long and has already become a bit of a legend: the Kunming (TS branded in this case) f/11 ED. I've been having a lot of fun with this. A superb visual optic. Great on planets, great on DSO within reach of a 4" frac, great for solar whitelight. Plays well with almost any eyepiece you put in it. Makes the absolute most of mediocre seeing. Splits Antares. Performs like an up-scaled Telementor. See planet shots taken through it with an ASI120 and 1.8x barlow. The main OTA has a detachable section at the rear to allow the easy use of bino viewers.
OTA is 101cm with dew shield retracted and 115cm with dew shield extended. Length includes the 1.25" adaptor, focuser racked in. Rated weight is 4.6kg so about 5-5.5kg incl. accessories.
Landed cost is about 1.1k at present, offering this for about 2/3 of that.
$700, posted Australia wide with tracked courier. Includes the 4 tube rings seen in the photo (i.e. 2 extra rings, great for attaching accessories), the dovetail bar and 1.25" adaptor. Does not include any of the other items in photo. The 50mm Asahi Pentax achromat, itself a fun little optic, can also be made available for a little extra - let me know if you're interested in that. I might find the fittings and table top tripod it came with. Deserves better mounting than that though.
Thanks for looking
