Finished processing IC 2944 Running Chicken Nebula
An Astrobin member who also uses Startools gave some good advice which I took on board
Definitely exposed more details in the outer regions of the object

Decided to play around with the Colour module so used the Matrix ( preset mapping ) to create some OSC Bi Colour blends in SHO and HOO

Link to Astrobin for Hi Res version and more details

Thanks for looking
Comments always welcome

Thanks Dave
These OSC Bi colour SHO, HOO renditions some folk may consider a bit of a novelty thing but at least the resolution and detail is maintained throughout and they are definitely not massaged , the colour channel mapping is fair dinkum in Startools.

No. 4 for me

Excellent pic, much detail, but its a bit hidden IMO.
I get into soo much trouble doing this, but I tweaked your Astrobin pic just a bit. Its all so subjective, sorry if this offends you. PS for me is always the last mile.

Thanks Fred
Offended , not at all
Yes images are always subjective
Honestly I not a fan of starless images
Thanks for going to the trouble of processing your PS rendition
By the way can you send me a version with stars ? I’d like to see how the stars turned out in regards to colour

Cheers

With stars. I didnt touch them, their colour is the same. The neb is over saturated to hell of course.

Thanks Fred,
I compared my image (ST Scientific colour mapping ) to your PS version (I assume False Hubble Palette with no Scientific value ) and although the PS version obviously provides the “Wow” factor , the basic detail in the image is still the same in both. It’s just that the dark and bright areas in the PS version accentuate the detail more with dark and bright contrasted colour ( Gold and Blues) and the darker shades in between.
It definitely adds Art or Zing to the image
I’d like to be able to have that Color Palette option available in the future for emission nebula
Do you have a link to your workflow on my image ?
Obviously I have to buy PS , any version of PS ?
Thanks for your time working on my image
Really appreciate it
Cheers
Martin
