My copy (3 Volume Set) of Luna Cognita - A Comprehensive Observer’s Handbook of the Known Moon finally arrived. :D

That looks quite good. Do let us know how you find it, I'd be interested in your thoughts.

I have to say I am rather fond of texts like these.
Looks impressive!

P.S.
Far too tempting. Just ordered the set from Amazon.

They are a great set of handbooks and extremely comprehensive. I am in the process of ordering a set for a friend as I already have my own which I purchased last year. Springer nature (www.springernature.com) currently offer a 40% discount which worked out to be $85 AUD landed here and shipped direct from Germany.

I've recently ordered mine, and apprently they're now en-route. What will happen when they get to the tender mercies of Australia Post is anyone's guess... :juggle:

Hi Warren,

Did you get the 40% discount?

Sadly, no. I got a 12% discount. I think they must be at the end of their discount stage. Ah well.

I haven't had any issues with Australia Post deliveries over many years. Regarding my order for the Luna Cognita from Springer Nature in Germany they have kept me informed at every stage, the latest telling me :

Most recent update
Cleared and awaiting international departure

FRANKFURT (DE), GERMANY

This was on March 2nd, in fact the tracking number was provided with the Australia post link. Considering the rather weighty books are inclusive of postage I don't mind the waiting time which is most likely a reflection of the current world situation. I went through the same process last year when I ordered my first set and delivery was rather quick from Australia Post once the books had arrived on our shores.

I have no issues with the current world situation. Everyone is affected. My experience with Australia Post has been a bit hit 'n' miss over the years. From perfect, speedy delivery, to crushed boxes and damaged contents, and everything in between. It's a bit of a dice roll for me...

Well I saw his description of the tides in a preview and it was so crappily wrong that I lost all faith in trusting anything else in the book. Didn’t buy it.
