Nothing to add here except a UV/IR cut filter. 50x40secs, 1600 iso, 500mm f8 Tamron Mirror lens, modded Canon 550d on an iOptron Sky tracker. Set up time 15mins, 40mins later, grab the whole lot in one hand, including the tripod and carry it inside. I was lucky enough to have good seeing and transparency this night before the moon rose in a Bortle 6 sky. :)

Nice one Michael. The nebula is nice and bold and the starfield is great.

Kinda jealous of such an easy setup!
The seeing was pretty good on Tuesday night, Wednesday night was trash though.

That Tamron lens seems to do a decent job, very colours :)

Thanks John, the framing on the 550d sensor with a 500mm lens fits most of the nebulosity and some rich star fields surrounding it.

Jealous? No need to feel jealous with the quality of work you produce Colin. Give me a permanent set up any day. I try and make the most of the gear I have. I don't even have a permanent place in the backyard to set up the mount. Too many trees on my block and surrounding homes. I move the mount around to wherever I can target an object. Carina just happens to be in the right 'gap' between the trees this time of year! The Tamron mirror lens is light enough to put on a small tracker. I think I did take this on Tuesday night, thanks for your reply.
