This object has long been on my imaging list and up until now I just did not have the right vantage point to produce an image I was happy with producing. At Swan Reach Imaging we have a great northern horizon and the latitude is a whole degree higher than Clayton Bay.

This image really needs more data in my opinion. It has 8.3 hours of integration and I am just pulling out the faint data and the very faint colour surrounding the cluster. It could do with double that to produce a really dusty coloured image. Adam Block produced an image which really highlights the reds and yellows surrounding M45. At first I thought it was something defective in my image but once I saw his recent image of the cluster I knew it had to be genuine.

Well done Paul,
Adam Block does have a unique view:

but it looks a bit busy and overpowering.

Your image is more like Terry Hancock's:

but they are all great images.

cheers

That's a lovely result Paul, the super deep versions of this are very cool but aesthetically, I actually prefer the more subtle presentations, like this, where the outer dust looks faint (which it is) and the cluster shines

Very nice rendition Paul! I tend to agree with Mike, I do like that the dust is more subtle. I find I do sometimes push the darker areas too hard to show them but I like what you’ve done

Who doesn't love a good Pleiades image? This one is done very well.

Nice work Paul. Producing a good Pleiades image is difficult from our latitudes and it looks like your patience has paid off.

Lovely image. So many stop at the blue, but there is so much more to see in the red/yellow with a bit more integration. Well done!

Thanks everyone for your comments and compliments. I am starting to like processing this one shot colour data.
