Here's a selection of Luna shots I captured on the same morning as my recent Mars image (12th May local time).

1. Schiller - 4 avi's captured of the area, mosaic created
2. Gassendi - 2 image mosaic
3. Aristarchus - 2 image mosaic
4. Hansteen
5. South limb somewhere :)

I'm quite pleased with how they turned out.

Resolution is approx 220m/pixel.

Thanks for looking.

Great images Mike. You going to tell us what you took them with and for how long? :P

Cheers

Ah, the details :) sorry chris :)

All taken with the 12" newt on EQ6, DMK21AF04 + 5x powermate + Astronomik G filter.

Avi's were 1 minute in length at 30fps (1/30s exposure), totalling 1800 frames.

MAP processing was done on all of the avi's, and approx 300 frames on each alignment point were stacked.

Excellent Mike :) You're certainly getting some use from your DMK. Are you still using your ToUcam at all, or has it now been pretty-much superceded?

I really must get a 5x PowerMate. Schroter's Valley rille in your third photo is fantastic.

Fantastic  . I imagine that you are using the same stacking and processing techniques as your Jupiter shots ? Its certainly a new era for planetary photograghers. In the old days of film they would have to have everything optically and mechanically perfect and try for years for a moment of the best seeing to get that once in a lifetime shot.

Top shots Mike, the last one really gives the effect of skimming over the surface.

Nice work Mike, really like the Aristarchus shot which is a difficult image at the best of times and you have also captured Schiller really nicely.

John.

Good stuff Mike! (as usual). I love Gassendi but especially Schiller!

Vallis Schroteri looks great but I was just a bit disappointed with the detail inside Aristarchus - Maybe you ran out of a bit of dynamic range in the top end? Maybe a HDR composite is the go for Aristarchus? I'll keep that in mind myself for my next go at Aristarchus:P.

Terrific shots Mike. I'd be most happy to record images as clear as those. I assume that each pic shown here is only a small part of a larger recording?
The pics that I posted yesterday 3rd July, number 2 The Apennine Mountains lit from the west, wasn't changed to grey. Sorry about that. I'll post a grey copy. Dennis G

Hey, how'd I miss this thread!!!

Very nice work Mike. You must have had very good seeing conditions.

People say I have overworked my Toucam, well . . . I think your 5x Powermate is just about ready for retirement too
