Hi all,

Last night I had a bit of fun gathering a whopping 25 minutes on the "Green Comet". Processing it was a unique experience. Having more time would have been great, but this will have to do for now for my first ever comet image.

Comments welcome.

Clear skies,
Stéphane

Hi Stephane
That’s very good!

How did you manage to stack the individual subs as the comet moves relative to the other stars so quickly. I notice the relative movement in a 20 second sub for example meaning that when I stack the individual subs the comet image blurs against nice round stars.

Really nice work there, Stéphane! Especially for a first ever comet shot

Good job, can just make out the Ion tail! How long were you subs. I went for 2min and accepted 15 or so arc seconds of blurring..

Thanks for the nice comments everyone! Hopefully I can try again with a bit longer time in the coming days or weeks.

Chris, I went through a painstakingly long workflow in Pixinsight thanks to a recent tutorial by Bray Falls (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLKAqQ7xkC8). It worked for me, but takes ages to apply star removal to every single sub.

Gary, I rather accidentally did a mix of 1 minute and 2 minute subs. The one minute subs were supposed to be tests, but they looked quite nice, so I threw them in!

Hi Stephane

Nice work. You've picked up the ion tail nicely.

Well done Stephane, and lots of Stars to go with it. A very Green hue as well.
