I tried to image ZTF when it first poked its nose over the north horizon last Sunday. Even though it was 5 deg at transit, the full Moon washed out any chance.
I drove up to my property after work yesterday with a mate and we set up for a nights observing and photography.
I used a Rokinon 135mmED f2 and a Pentax 300mm f4 EDIF. The 135 mm shots were ok but I'm quite happy with the 300mm lens.
A Queensland newspaper is publishing the image tomorrow in the Sunday papers.
Images were captured over a couple of minutes at Feb 10, 12hrs UT 11pm local time. Gibbous moon rose at 11:25UT

The dark sky creeping in at the bottom is from the gradual encroachment of my shed into the frame. Not something that could be flat fielded out :lol:
