Inc GST and Shipping etc.....that's $65.5k in Aussie Pesos.
He can ask...but will the market say yes?

Historically there are very few buyers of anything astro at that price point, not even considering the current economic situation. So i believe the market will say no, but lets see what happens.
Looks like he saved money on focuser end , just looking at the $3 focus knobs

Anything is possible with the US market. They love Astro-Physics and will pay ridiculous prices.
This was the stock focuser on Astro-Physics scopes of that era. It is the same one fitted to the AP 152 F9 Starfire APO.

For best results, it’s not the length that matters, more the girth

Its not just the scope, it is from Rolands estate (he passed away recently) and an auction of two scopes a while back showed there are collectors prepared to pay significantly for the provenance that goes with that.

Roland Christen, as far as I know, is very much alive.
What makes you say otherwise?

He is definitely alive. I just read a post from him dated 8 Feb.
Where did that idea come from? The fact he was clearing out some of his scopes?

Good old Google reveals that there are more than one Roland Christen, so like Schrodinger's Cat he maybe alive or not. As obituaries exist for some of them.

I checked with the staff at AP overnight and I am pleased to say Roland Christen, founder of AP, is indeed alive and well and is in fact on holiday in Hawaii.
That comment was obviously BS.
