Finally Starship 33 engine Static Fire

Space X finally pulled off a 33 engine static fire of the Starship booster today at Boca Chica Starbase
Apparently 1 engine was shut down by the test team and 1 engine didn’t fire , so technically a 31 engine static fire which is adequate to reach orbit.
Fears of the booster blowing up, the test stand collapsing or a gigantic hole in the ground below the booster were dismayed as the booster completed the test and stood there gleaming in the sun.
What’s unsure is the duration of the static fire and total thrust during the fire , but I suspect that it’s the most powerful static fire ever performed. Even at 50% thrust it’s still slightly more than Artemis and Saturn 5 at full thrust.

Elon has posted a couple of Tweets that clear up some points. He says it was a full duration static fire. Further, he points out that the booster design has sufficent thrust, even if having lost two engines, to get a fully loaded Starship to orbit. With a Starship on top, and no payload, there is no issue with orbital flight. Never the less, the two engines are likely to be swapped out, before the orbit flight. I suspect another static fire, after the engine swap.

Static fire thrust was confirmed by Space X as 7.9 million pounds or just under half of maximum thrust output for 33 engines

If that was half thrust I don’t know if the orbital launch mount will handle nearly 17 million pounds for an orbital launch ??

Can’t wait for the orbital launch in March once FAA approve

It will be the biggest fire works display the world has ever witnessed
