Long time no see everyone. Greetings from the light pollution and bad weather capital of the world. For some reason the stars aligned (pun definitely intended) and we had a clear night for once. It's been 8 years since I last touched my telescope.

I tried. I failed. And I made do.

Got out the telescope. Reassembled everything. Missing a few things here and there but an Australian adapter later and I was ... failing. :(
Telescope computer is looking for a WiFi network from Brisbane. Off to find a network cable. Plugged it in. ... What the heck is the windows password...

After about 20 failed attempts I gave up. Pulled the PC and all the electronics off the mount and threw on my telescope, DSLR, and a wideband light pollution filter.

At this point it the moon was rising. I can't for the life of me remember how to drift align a mount, or how to even work the damn Synscan remote (which I haven't used in a decade).

And I can't find my focusing aids either so I ended up eyeballing it.

So here it is:
C/2022 E3 (ZTF)
Unguided
With a normal DSLR
35x 10second subs (can't get registration to work on the rest)
Out of focus

Oh and check out the dust on the telescope :rofl::rofl:

Greetings from the Netherlands. Man I miss Australia.

I figured out the wifi and the computer login. If the comet is still around in 7 years when I once again have a cloud free night I'll be ready ::lol:

Welcome back to Oz Chris. At least you got the little blighter in the end! :) Have just been out looking at in binos from halfway to Toowoomba. Finally, a break in the clouds....
