Late last year I posted my first light image of the galaxy NGC 1232 (https://pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/image/173190465/original), on the Michelago (the region where Eagleview is) Community Noticeboard Facebook page and a Journalist saw it and contacted me to do a story, of course I obliged :). Well, it finally appeared in the Sunday Canberra Times yesterday! :) As is common these days in journalism, there aaaare a couple of inaccuracies  like err?.., uuuum, I didn't "carry" a 27Ton B-Double! :eyepop:  I pulled (https://pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/image/68903684/original) it 20m  . However, I am happy the need to keep our regions skies "dark" was mentioned in the piece :)
All good fun and you can see the actual newspaper page HERE (https://pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/image/173331722/original) and I have attached the digital version too ...I'm officially a "boffin"

Fantastic Mike! That’s a great article - and now you’ve formally reached boffin status too! Your obs is getting some well-deserved acknowledgement. Careful or u might become a tourist attraction soon!!

Congrats on the write up, you old boffin.
It's not new. I have a clipping from the 1970's of astro club members 'with their 10" microscope'.

Congratz! You definitely need a lab coat, clipboards are optional.

Enclosed footwear and eye protection are also mandatory. Clipboards are only for those of us who have to conduct the safety inspections.
