Walter Cunningham, the last surviving astronaut from the first successful
crewed space mission in NASA’s Apollo program, has died. He was 90.

Cunningham was one of three astronauts aboard the 1968 Apollo 7 mission,
an 11-day flight that beamed live broadcasts as it orbited Earth, paving the
way for the moon landing less than a year later.

Thanks for posting
The success of Apollo 7 was probably the most important step to get the program back on track to the Moon after the tragic Apollo 1 fire.
Walt , Don and Wally gave that command module a real work out in low Earth orbit which paved the way for a risky moon shot in December 68’ with Apollo 8

Only a handful of Apollo astronauts still with us today

RIP Walt Cunningham

Sad news. I sit in my home office and look up every day at a large, framed print of all of the Apollo Astronauts and their mission patches. Sadly, they're slowly fading away. :-(
