The planets have still not completely gone. It is harder to get reasonable elevation after darkness. We imaged on Christmas night but the seeing was really bad so we only salvaged a single wider view of Jupiter with three of the Galilean moons. Last night was an improvement, however high thin cloud came through and stopped any imaging. We captured Jupiter with Ganymede and a single video of Mars.

All taken with our usual 6" SCT set up.

I do like that image of Jupiter and Ganymede. Considering the battle you had with the elements, it's a solid effort.

Thanks Warren. It's been a challenging planet season :)

Well done on both, P & C.

Given that the atmosphere has like it was being stirred with a spoon over Christmas, Ganymede looks great.

Thanks Neville.
You're right about the atmosphere those days leading up to Christmas. There was some really bad seeing on what were predicted to be excellent nights. So much for predictions!
