This was one of those cases where I was tempted to chuck the data. I had foolishly fiddled with the collimation during the session and the sseing was bad, so I had egg-shaped blobs instead of stars. Then along came Russel Croman's BlurXterminator--an AI based deconvolution process--and I ended up with something reasonable. Just goes to show: don't chuck away data.

That’s a wonderful shot! Colour in the galaxy and starfield is stunning! I’m so glad you could revive it!!

Well that looks pretty good considering what you had encountered Geoff, really nice image of a cool looking galaxy, reminds me a lot of NGC 6300 in Ara and yes good not to throw out data, I've salvaged some initially crap data too and it is satisfying when you are able to pull out a decent image in the end.
