Some friends of mine have a 5 YO son, Ray, who's interested in all things astro and spacy, so they've asked me to let them know when I take my scope out so they can have a look and let young Ray have a look. Last Friday night I was taking the scope out, but since I was going out of town, and it was fairly late and it was going to be cold, and Ray had soccer in the morning, etc, etc they passed on the offer... but that's OK.

After I finished talking to them, I realised the ISS was passing over, so I rang back and gave them instructions on where and when and what to look for. They must've had some luck cause later on I got an SMS: "That was cool, thanks mate!".

I'm glad they saw it. I think mum and dad probably enjoyed seeing it as much as Ray!;) It's a good thing the ISS is so reliable!

Hi AL

Whenever I point out an ISS pass to non-astronomers, they initially express disbelief that the ISS can be seen with the naked eye; until they see it that is! Then, that very same disbelief turns into being gob smacked.

Cheers
