My brother in law needs an oxygen generator and has asked me to ask the world..he means you guys..what to buy..any one out there with one or experience with this sort of thing.

Any input will be greatly appreciated both by him and by me... to be able to help him some way gives me much joy.

I can't recommend a make/model, but it's possible he might be able to get one on loan through either a health fund or public hospital, so try that first if it's not going to be for years.

The one we had a few years ago was bulky and noisy. Get extra facemasks, tubing and connectors - it's easier to uncoil tubing across a room than to move the whole unit and something will inevitably break or need a good clean. He'll still need some oxygen bottles on hand in case of failure and/or for mobility.

If he needs to be on it fulltime, he should, if possible, consider re-arranging his house/unit to minimise the distance he needs to move around. Even though the unit will be on wheels, you still need to unplug, move it and plug in again, so minimising that is worthwhile.

They have given him one for free as they will if you are expected to die within six months..but he wants his own..maybe a better one I don't know as I did not ask..I will just try my best to help him ...maybe he does not like the idea that everyone that has used that unit are now dead...me ..free I dont care..but if you are laying around dieing you may start thinking funny...

Thanks for your input.
