I've just started to use a Celestron red dot finderscope but it appears to stop working under cold conditions. Is this a known problem? I thought maybe the battery was getting too cold...

Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so, found a solution.

thanks

Don't think it can be the battery because when I take it back inside after half an hour it works fine again.

I kinda think it might be the cold getting to the battery as the compartment for it is fairly exposed.

If I'm the only one having these problems I'll try to deal with it as a warranty issue...

Niko, batteries hate cold! Even a 30 second warm up with a hair dryer will make it work again until the cold gets to it again. I use a hair dryer on my laser if it gets too cold to operate. 30 seconds of warm air and its working bright again.

Hair dryers  Why should Women have a monopoly on them
