Hi All
My best attempt at Andromeda so far
and I’m SOOOO happy with it
280 subs 25sec ISO 1600 F5/6
lens at 300mm but image is cropped a lot
also used darks flats and bias calibration files
processed in Photoshop
also used Starnet++ and Topaz denoise

taken with my Nikon D850 Tamron 150-600 G2 lens
and star adventure 2i Pro star tracker
while I have spent a lot of time on processing (prob over done)
it shows you can get pretty good results with a star tracker

kind regards
mick

Fantastic result Mick, drove through Waroona yesterday on the way back to Perth Airport. Seems like a great dark sky location with plenty of large open areas away from bushland for clear sky views. I'm envious!

Nice one. I can’t ever see this for the hill near my place.

Great pic.. I came back from a holiday in Canada Oct and Andromeda was nice and high.. Reacon yours is better than mine.. I had a 200mm Canon Lense but also an ASI 294MC pro on a Sky Guider.. Was happy to just get a decent image..

Great image, Mick. This is one of those 'things' where it seems crazy that another galaxy is literally in our celestial backyard. In fact, Andromeda and the Milky Way are probably already influencing each other. Can't wait to get an image of M31 when I move north to Brisbane, and also get a scope with a shorter focal length!
