Well conditions were forecast to be pretty good. Unfortunately i was a bit slow getting the telescope out to get down to temperature, disrupting Saturn / Jupiter, neptune. Managed some of the crispest close ups of the moon I have done though so fairly happy with that. Will be playing around with saturation abit more, and reducing the noise.

Mars I started imaging when it was low down, and then unfortunately, the temp suddenly dropped quickly resulting in a heap of dew, so i missed out on extracting the most out of the opportunity (it is really low in Melbourne as it is!). Managed one decent capture which picked up some detail, otherwise they are clean fuzzballs.

Cheers

Russ

Some amazing closeups in that lot Russ. It would be very difficult to get those sorts of views visually. I particularly like the shot that has roughly a 16:9 ratio (widescreen). Great detail and very much worth the effort.

Thanks Floyd - indeed, although there is something nice about looking at mars through the eyepiece I am not sure you can ever replicate it (unless maybe some crazy hdr of the future is available) - thanks I like that one too, i have it up on astrobin at a higher quality/resolution https://www.astrobin.com/full/zeofxu/0/?mod=&real=

thanks Dave - yes quite glad I got one out of the bunch with some ok detail!

Great moon close ups! The planets also look fine. It was a challenging night here with cloud coming and going so we gave up after some Jupiter images even before the Ganymede transit started. Well done on a good session :thumbsup:
