Been a while between posts with so much cloud over on the east coast - it was still patchy cloud on the 29th and jetstream was pretty bad too, but enough clear sky to tempt me to head out.

Fortunately GRS was in transit which is actually the first full GRS transit I've been able to observed this season would you believe?!? I spent about an hour or 2 on the binos which yielded some surprisingly decent views of festoons and white oval storms, but still just a second here and there where the detail snaps into focus as the seeing moves.

I spent the second half of the GRS transit taking some shots. The view on screen was not too encouraging - again with only transitory glimpses of detail through the mess. Guess we just gotta play with the cards we're dealt!

Trying a few different processing options including drizzle and different capture lengths as I'm still trying to get the best out of my newish asi462mc. But probs need better conditions for a good test.
Thanks for looking :)

nice work David - such a difficult planetary season - i've been a bit the same as you, the extra time experimenting on different processing techniques.

cheers

Nice images David!
It's good that you got at least some opportunity to both view and image.

A full house Dave!
They turned out quite splendidly. Subtle and not over done. Well done - it can be a tricky process to see what you can manage with the data collected and you’ve processed them more than adequately.
