Observing sites in Albury area?

Hi everyone, me and the missus are going over east to visit our son who lives in Lavington NSW tomorrow.
Just wondering if there are any nice observing places around the area?
I won't be able to take any gear over with me so it will be visual only :( and my wife isn't very interested so it will be just one night unfortunately.

Hi Tony,

I drove through Albury last month. Whilst I was only there during the day (passing through), it felt the town was large enough that one would probably still need to drive out ~30 mins to get to dark skies.

I stopped by Goulburn for the night instead and despite having Canberra on one side and Sydney diagonally opposite, the night felt was quite contrasty.

Yes you would want a darker location. Kurrajong lookout is probably a bit close. I've been to Tallangatta lookout, that's good.

There's also an accessible hill at Bethanga Park, off Kurrajong Rd, and another track at Montgomery Lane.
