Hi Rob,

That's really cool. It never ceased to amaze me that amateurs like you and I are able to capture images of tiny objects such huge distances away...

Thanks Steve. It was a sort of side project. I took a photo of Pluto to see if it could be seen. There were so many similar dots I wasn’t certain. I imaged the Pluto over a few nights while I was imagining the lagoon neb. Took a while to process as I had to learn how to zoom and frame each frame and then learn how to make gif. Also had to use sky-map to work out which dots were stars and which were Pluto.
Cheers, Rob

Hi Rob

You've done a nice neat job. I have tried to do something similar with Vesta, but, haven't figured out to align the individual shots.

So. how did you do this?

Thanks Warren, John, David and Adam.
Phillip, I used windows photo . Using edit function , 1. zoom with mouse wheel(same amount for each frame), 2.crop (each frame to same pixel size), 3.allign each frame to same position by picking a star on 2 borders and putting in same position ( left clickand hold to move frame).
You can also write on the frame.
I had 2 windows open to compare with first frame processed to get the same zoom, crop and allignment.
Good luck,Rob

PS I used GIMP to make a gif (need to import in layers and need to resize when exporting to get under the 200KB limit for showing on IIS)
