After having an unexpectedly good night on Sunday, Monday night was actually forecast to be clear. Two clear nights in a row seemed too good to be true. Well, it was clear again on Monday night, but there the similarity with the previous evening ended. The seeing was not good. We imaged Saturn and Jupiter anyway and tried a Red+IR filter to try and cut through the atmosphere a bit which was only semi successful.

Here is what we captured using 6" SCT, ASI178MC, 2x barlow and ZWO ADC for colour images. For the 610nm R+IR we used ASI178MM and 1.8x barlow.

nice effort P&C, possibility of some better seeing tomorrow night if the clouds dont't interfere too early.

Still reckon you’re doing mighty well!! Those are great for the conditions well done! There’s definitely better contrast in the IR- in the sessions I’ve shot in IR I’m amazed at how effective it is at cutting through poor atmospheric conditions but I think it certainly helps having some more aperture at your disposal
