Hey Rob,

That's a great first effort at the Lagoon - there's plenty of detail in the nebulous areas, the stars are sharp (and the diffraction spikes are suitably restrained), and the colours have plenty of subtle shades.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers,
V

Lovely shot! Very detailed and nice star field too well done!! Maybe just a bit much magenta in the colour balance. But seriously great job!!

Agreed. Star tools doesn't really do a realistic job..... There is no photometric colour calibration that I know of of plate solving to assist with that process.

Thanks John, David, Steve and Wes for yours comments and suggestions. My DSLR is unmodded so I don’t have any H alpha. I’ll have another go in startools and see if I can reduce the magenta hue. Thanks, Rob.

Sorry for the delay. I tried another startools process and tried to reduce the magenta. Thanks for looking. Rob
