Despite being a week late to the opposition party, Jupiter has been making the rounds in the press cycle. This on prime time 6pm News last night: https://www.9news.com.au/national/astronomy-jupiter-seen-from-earth-for-first-time-in-nearly-60-years/ (https://www.9news.com.au/national/astronomy-jupiter-seen-from-earth-for-first-time-in-nearly-60-years/6b297efb-e055-4ae9-9fa5-cba83df8856a). It seemed to coincide with decent seeing and a GRS transit. Nice timing. My pic from last night is attached.

Read the article.

Good that they made the effort, but a bit of a surprise to learn in the final line we won't see Jupiter again for 11 years!:confuse3:

Nice pic Dennis-
I’m yet to get a night of decent seeing to coincide with a GRS transit this year.

Really nice image Dennis. Glad you got a break in this rotten weather - thanks La Nina V3.
Agree with Neville. We're a bit surprised to read that Jupiter is about to disappear. Glad we took some images while we could :)

Don't want to let the facts get in the way of a good story.
