Pallas in Canis Major

Pallas is in Canis Major and will pass amazing close (0.1 degrees) to Sirius on October 10th.

Below is an image showing Pallas 6 hours ago and an older image without Pallas for reference. Sirius is the bright star in the lower right.

Pallas is edging closer!

Below is this morning's image, then yesterday's for easy reference.

Pallas this morning. This was a difficult task, as I waited out the rain and after 90 mins; it was only visible for one minute before disappearing back into the clouds.

I was fortunate this morning in obtaining a clear sky and was able to find a sweet-spot after moonset and before sunrise to take this image of Pallas near Sirius.

Tomorrow, Pallas will be very near Sirius (0.1 degree), however the Moon will be full and will not have set. I guess that I can only hope for the best.

Well it was cloudy here in Perth so I couldn't see this event. How did others go?

Today was closest approach and fortunately, I managed to get a small break in the clouds.

Moonlight interfered, but maybe I was again lucky in the sense that the Moon was behind clouds, so the last thousand or so meters of atmosphere were not illuminated by moonlight.

Tech details: 60 Evolux with coma corrector, Canon M50, 10 secs, 1600 ISO

Just a suggestion- might be worthwhile if you put all of your shots of Pallas into a gif- I think it would be quite a sight to see its relative movement.
