2nd Oct. A nice sunny day with a few clouds today. I managed this single exposure image with a Canon 550d camera attached to an 81 mm refractor and Herschel wedge set to 540 nm. Most sunspot groups appear in the northern hemisphere of the Sun. AR 3112 coming into view on the NE limb looks like developing further. Thanks for viewing, John W.

Great image JW, always appreciate everyone's solar images, because it always seems to be mostly cloudy around here every day.
Was just reading on Spaceweather .com that AR 3110 let loose an M8.7 Flare and from your image, AR3112 looks a very large grouping. Must be due some more activity from it soon.

Great image John. With Jeff here, AR3112 looks impressively complex and has already been flaring as it's come round the limb. Could be a bit of a show this week.
